Filament production from PET bottles for 3D printing

Followings are the steps of working mechanism:

1. PET bottle is forced downward as shown.

2. Paper cutter blade is placed in such position that it cuts the bottle into stripes of about 5-7mm.

3. The long strip is moved through a heater and extruder of definite hole to form a cylindrical extrusion.

4. The extruded plastic is rolled on the pulley.

5. Arduino and motor driver are used to maintain temperature and motion of the pulley and thus the filament.

6. The extracted roll can be used as filament for 3D printer.
